American Pastoral

June, July 2021

As city dwellers, we sometimes forget  the value of silence and reflection.

Two years after the start of the global pandemic, the frayed threads of our lives began to crumble from stress and solitude. As a result, a road trip from New York City through the American midwest unfolded as an unexpected journey.

A different way of living began to take shape, away from the urban noise of our daily stresses. The potential for contemplation became a priority, where rural landscapes overflowed with confidence.

This visual anecdote of the American countryside which was once mundane, took a new interest. Perhaps a result of all we have taken for granted.

Somewhere beneath the surface of what we see, what we experience, lies the hope for the simple joys of life.
